CARDINAL FOLEY RESIGNS AS GRAND MASTER.
For health reasons, has resigned from the government and OESSJ Guide to His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI the Grand Master of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, His Eminence the Most Reverend Cardinal Foley.

John Patrick Foley, born 11 November 1935 was appointed in 2007 by Benedict XVI Grand Master, the year in which it was raised to the dignity of Cardinal. Previously, from 1984 to 2007, had been the President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communication.
The Holy Father accepted the resignation of Cardinal Foley on February 24, 2011, because of his poor health.

Cardinal Foley submitted his resignation in writing to the Vatican Secretary of State on 8 February and met with Pope Benedict XVI two days later to return to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on February 12, where he lives in the Villa St. Joseph, Darby, Pennsylvania, a retirement home for priests nursing.

Pending the Holy Father appointed a new Grand Master, took the direction of the OESSJ, the adviser of it by the Archbishop Giuseppe De Andrea.
Monsignor Andrea was born on April 20, 1930, and September 20, 2001 received episcopal ordination. Has been at the forefront of Nunciatures Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen and Qatar.
